In Alpha you play Alpha, son of Apollyon, former of King
of Antioch, now exiled, a wanderer, punished to walk the lands
of Albion for your campaign of genocide against the people of
House Malachi.
Once one of the Angelus, a caste of genetically engineered
superhuman Kings, you are now one of the Fallen Angels, stripped
of your lands and exiled to the wastes to die.
You are the last of the line of House Levai, a remnant of the
past waiting for the sweet embrace of death. However, as you
wander the ruins of the Forbidden Mountains you come across
an ancient artifact that will change the course of the world,
for good or evil...
I have been gone for quite a while, and a lot of things have
changed.
Basically I have come to the conclusion that the isometric
engine was too buggy and primitive in this era of 3D bells and
whistles, and although I am still going to use the isometric
viewpoint and interaction of my favourite RPGs I should really
be doing it in 3D.
So I dusted off my Torque engine, something I purchased a while
ago, and dove into it again. Surprisingly, this time I was able
to make a lot more sense of the whole thing (probably because
of all the 3D work I have been doing recently).
So to make a long story short ALPHA 3D is born (although
it will still be called ALPHA, the iso verison
will now be ). Here are some screenies of
what I have been working on!
Sincerely, Gerard
